NTT Smart Connect Corporation will begin offering a new data center connectivity (hereinafter referred to as DCI) service in the Osaka metropolitan area starting January 1, 2027. In addition to the company’s own data center cabling service currently provided in the central Osaka area, this service will strengthen connectivity with data centers other than the Company’s own, thereby improving customer convenience.
To date, our company has provided cabling services between our own data centers in the central Osaka area, including “Dojima Connect,” to meet the interconnection needs of the Kansai region.
Currently, with the rapid spread of AI and the shift to an AI-driven society, there is a growing need for long-distance, high-capacity, and low-latency communication that goes beyond conventional frameworks, such as secure and high-quality connections to computing resources distributed domestically and internationally, and the resulting strengthening of existing digital infrastructure. To meet this demand, the NTT Group is deploying the AI-native infrastructure “AIOWN”, and within this framework, we will expand our service areas centered on DC and DCI in the West Japan area, contributing to our customers’ business growth by providing flexible and high-quality digital infrastructure.

As the first step in this initiative, we will begin offering DCI services that seamlessly connect data centers in the central Osaka area and the surrounding Osaka area. Moving forward, centered around the Dojima Campus, one of the largest IX locations in Japan, and with data centers in Osaka and Fukuoka as core, we will combine NTT Group’s IOWN and a variety of partner companies’ services to achieve connectivity with major domestic locations such as Osaka, Fukuoka, and Tokyo, as well as various landing stations, thereby expanding the provision of highly reliable and highly available digital infrastructure.
