Eleven Labs Japan and Spark+ Inc. have announced a joint initiative to develop a Japanese-specialized voice AI solution tailored for call centers. This collaboration seeks to address long-standing challenges in Japan’s customer service industry, particularly the linguistic complexity and high-quality expectations that have hindered the adoption of AI-driven call centers compared to international counterparts.
The project combines Eleven Labs’ expertise in voice generation, backed by its rapid rise as a global leader in AI TTS (Text-to-Speech) technology, with Spark+’s proficiency in developing Japanese-optimized Small Language Models (SLMs) for high-speed, accurate responses. Eleven Labs just launched the Eleven v3 model. It features natural-sounding Japanese speech. This upgrade makes AI voices more realistic and responsive.

The partnership combines Spark+’s lightweight, precise SLM with Eleven Labs’ voice AI. This aims to create a next-generation AI solution for digital transformation in large Japanese companies. The initiative shows a shift in the industry. It focuses on automation and AI for customer support. This change comes from labor shortages and Japan’s shrinking population. The completed solution is expected to launch by the end of 2025.
