HEROZ has started a new co-creation support initiative with Nippon Life Insurance Company to help the insurer build an in-house AI development system that can operate and grow without continued dependence on external support.
The initiative uses HEROZ’s Business Embedded Model, or BEM. Instead of starting with fixed requirements and treating development as a one-time project, both companies will first look at the underlying business challenges, test different approaches and gradually define what needs to be built.
The focus also goes beyond improving individual tasks. HEROZ and Nippon Life will review wider business processes while developing AI models and applications, with the aim of finding opportunities to redesign how work is done.

A major part of the initiative is knowledge transfer. HEROZ will work alongside Nippon Life’s teams so that AI development skills and know-how become part of the company rather than remaining with an outside partner.
For Nippon Life, the goal is to build the flexibility to respond to changing customer needs, business conditions and AI technology on its own. HEROZ says its BEM approach is intended to take companies beyond simply implementing AI and toward using it as a longer-term source of competitiveness.
