Mitsubishi HC Capital and Shizen Connect have signed a capital and business alliance aimed at improving the value and utilization of energy facilities through IoT and AI. As part of the agreement, Mitsubishi HC Capital will participate in Shizen Connect’s Series A funding round.
The partnership will focus on developing services that can optimize the operation of energy facilities owned by companies. This includes low-voltage power plants, storage batteries and water heaters. The companies will work on technologies that can tweak these assets, depending on the electricity supply, demand and market situations, which is the main idea really.
This step happens because renewable energy use keeps rising, and the need for smoother power control is getting bigger. Virtual Power Plants, or VPPs, are used to bring together and steer distributed energy resources, so the whole system can better balance electricity supply and demand, while also backing more agile market operations.

Mitsubishi HC Capital plans to promote FIP conversion and battery installations at low-voltage power plants operated by its group company, MHC Renewable Networks. The companies will also test VPP-based control and operation linked to electricity market conditions.
Shizen Connect will provide its VPP platform and expertise in integrating and controlling energy facilities using IoT and AI. The companies plan to expand these capabilities, across various corporate owned energy assets, sort of you know, broadly.
The partnership also aims to develop demand response services and support the overall movement toward a decarbonized energy system, which is kind of the bigger picture here.
