OLTA Corporation has entered into a capital and business alliance with Resona Holdings, Inc., raising 2.5 billion yen through a third-party allocation of shares to Resona HD. The deal brings OLTA’s total funding raised to 10.73 billion yen, including loans and other sources, while equity financing accounts for 7.05 billion yen.
As part of the agreement, OLTA will become an equity-method affiliate of Resona Holdings. Its existing management team and management structure will remain in place, allowing the company to continue making independent and swift business decisions.
The partnership will expand OLTA’s cloud factoring service across the four Resona Group banks, namely Resona Bank, Saitama Resona Bank, Kansai Mirai Bank and Minato Bank. This will increase OLTA’s financial institution partners to more than 50 and extend access to financing for SME customers nationwide.
The companies will also integrate Resona’s banking functions with OLTA’s cloud invoicing platform, INVOY. Account linking and payment processing will enable businesses to manage invoice issuance, payments and deposit management in a more connected workflow.

The alliance comes as Japan’s financial sector faces growing pressure to move beyond traditional lending models based on collateral and guarantees. Digital credit assessment and stronger support for SME cash flow are becoming increasingly important.
OLTA plans to use the new funding to expand its engineering and business teams, accelerate product development and support further business growth.
