Piramal Pharma Solutions and Ajinomoto Bio-Pharma Services have announced a collaboration that is basically aimed at one thing. Making antibody-drug conjugate work move faster from early development to actual commercial manufacturing.
Piramal Pharma Solutions is already deep in this space. It has more than 20 years of experience in ADC development and manufacturing. The company has worked across early stage programs and also commercial scale production. It is also known as the first FDA approved ADC CDMO. Over time it has developed hundreds of ADCs, completed thousands of batches, and is still expanding its commercial manufacturing capacity globally.
Ajinomoto Bio-Pharma Services comes in from a different angle. It focuses more on platform technology and early stage development tools. Its AJICAP™ technology is built for site specific ADC creation and linker development. The idea is to make ADCs more precise, more efficient, and ideally less toxic, especially when moving from concept to early development.

Now the collaboration between the two is structured in a very practical way. Piramal will send suitable ADC customers toward Ajinomoto’s AJICAP™ platform when it fits the need. At the same time, Ajinomoto will refer customers back to Piramal when they need contract development and manufacturing support using that same technology.
There is also a formal step in the background. Both companies will enter a Material Transfer Agreement. This is what allows technology, expertise, and personnel to actually move between the two sides so that Piramal can manufacture AJICAP™ based products with proper precision and speed.
What makes this interesting is not just the partnership on paper. It is the way the roles are split. Ajinomoto handles the design and platform side. Piramal handles scale, GMP manufacturing, and commercial readiness. That combination is what customers in ADC development usually struggle to stitch together on their own.
So instead of fragmented development pipelines, the idea here is a more connected flow. Early design, development, and manufacturing moving in one line.
