Evinova has partnered with Lothar Medical to support the use of connected technology in respiratory clinical trials. Under the agreement, Lothar Medical’s respiratory devices will be integrated with Evinova’s Unified Trial Solution, bringing device data and trial workflows together on one platform.
Lothar Medical’s device combines three respiratory measurements, FeNO, spirometry and oscillometry. This allows clinical teams to combine three different pulmonary function measurements in one device suitable for research as well as care environments.
If respiratory trials for conditions such as asthma, COPD, bronchiectasis and interstitial lung disease come into study the partnership would allow teams to more quickly determine patient eligibility. Three measurements when combined can form part of screening and diagnosis procedures as more trials become directed at early diagnosis.

The integration is also designed to improve endpoint data collection. Teams can capture measures including FEV1, PEF, FeNO and symptom diaries, along with exploratory data on large and small airway resistance and reactance.
Using one device instead of several can also reduce the operational load on trial sites and patients. Digital coaching and automated validation checks are intended to support correct device use and improve data quality.
