Preferred Networks, Inc. has launched PLaMo 2.2 Prime and PLaMo Translation on the Snowflake Inc. Marketplace, bringing its Japanese generative AI platform into a secure enterprise cloud setup for the first time.
The launch gives companies using Snowflake direct access to PFN’s AI models for content generation, analysis, and translation without shifting critical business data across separate systems. Since many enterprises already manage sensitive workloads on Snowflake, the integration makes adoption easier for firms looking at domestic AI alternatives.
PLaMo Translation adds features aimed at business use cases instead of basic text conversion. Users can create custom glossaries, import terminology, and adjust translations based on context, which enables companies to manage industry-specific documents and multilingual operations with improved consistency.

The move also highlights a growing shift in enterprise AI. Businesses now prefer to use regional AI models which provide better language accuracy and secure deployment environments and work seamlessly with their existing cloud infrastructure instead of global AI platforms.
