Kiva Co., Ltd. has introduced its web accessibility tool, UniWeb, on the service website of Attenir Co., Ltd., a beauty brand founded in 1989. The implementation aims to make website information and functions easier to access for users with different needs.
The UniWeb icon now appears on the left side of Attenir’s website. Using the button users can open an accessibility menu with text-to-speech and a higher screen contrast that is one click away.
Attenir has been developing anti-aging products from the very beginning, bringing together the characteristics of products, sensations (bouquets and textures) and prices. Attenir plans to carry out all its activities internally (from production to point of sale) to maintain a cheap rate.

Web accessibility is when people with disabilities can access the website content without extra effort. It’s also when the website is usable by people with disabilities, such as a temporary disability like a broken arm or sprained ankle and the aging population who’s getting older and their capabilities are changing.
Accessibility is equally important in case of an emergency. Information must be readily available, especially in emergencies. For instance, travelers from another country who don’t understand Japanese may find it very difficult to determine what evacuation procedures should be followed during an earthquake. Multilingual access is another feature.
The move to Uni Web demonstrates the impact that accessibility services can have on improving the usability of digital services for a broader range of users, including those whose needs may change as they grow older or face health or situational challenges.
