ugo Inc., which promotes the social implementation of physical AI, and Melt Interface Technologies Inc., an interface development company, have agreed to a business alliance to jointly develop a wearable data collection system for use in imitation learning and remote control of humanoid robots, and have now signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) regarding this business alliance.
The two companies will combine Melt Interface Technologies’ high-precision hand tracking technology cultivated with the “ContactGlove” series with ugo’s robot learning technology cultivated through the development of AI robots and the provision of “imitation learning kits for AI robots,” aiming to commercialize and begin offering the product by 2027.

In the research and development of robot-based models, including VLA models, it is necessary to accurately acquire not only video footage of human work, but also the position, posture, and time-series data of hand movements, and convert this data into a format that the robot can learn from.
