NDR has joined the QNX Partner Program, expanding the support available to Japanese companies developing advanced embedded control systems. Through the partnership, NDR will combine QNX’s software platform, known for its safety and security capabilities, with its own hardware and software development expertise, including SoC FPGA design and EtherCAT solutions.
NDR, headquartered in Osaka, provides integrated IT and software engineering services covering embedded systems, model-based development, and business systems. The company supports projects from concept development and design through prototyping, mass production, and maintenance.
As part of the QNX Partner Program NDR will offer development support for embedded control systems that use QNX technologies. The services provided will include system design, operating system porting, device-driver development, hardware and software integration and verification support.
The partnership happens at a time when software is becoming more and more important for product differences. Embedded-system development now requires teams to think about hardware constraints, operating-system requirements, device drivers, networking and long-term maintenance as parts of the development process that are connected. The companies said that combining QNX’s software foundation, with NDR’s hardware and software capabilities will help create an integrated way to handle system-level development.
QNX is a business unit of BlackBerry and provides operating systems, hypervisors, middleware, development tools, and other technologies for safety- and security-critical embedded systems. Its technology is used across automotive, industrial control, robotics, medical devices, commercial transportation, rail, aerospace, and defense applications.
For NDR participation, in the program extends NDR’s ability to support customers from early architecture planning through product implementation. NDR’s existing capabilities span hardware and software development, allowing NDR to address requirements that involve both physical system design and embedded software.

The companies focus on embedded systems that need real‑time performance, safety, security and long‑term reliability. These requirements become more important as connected and software‑defined products become common in medical and infrastructure applications.
NDR was established in 1984 and operates globally, with overseas subsidiaries in India and Thailand. The company provides embedded-system development, model-based development, and IT solutions to industries including manufacturing and social infrastructure.
Through the QNX partnership, NDR will provide Japanese customers with development and integration support covering QNX-based embedded systems, from design and implementation to verification. The collaboration is intended to strengthen the development ecosystem for systems that require coordinated hardware and software engineering.
