Plaid Inc. is pleased to announce that it has begun supporting the construction of a customer data platform to support the in-house development of AI and data utilization for Itokin Co., Ltd. , a comprehensive apparel manufacturer.
In this project, we will provide support from the construction of the customer data infrastructure to its implementation and growth through the provision of PLAID’s CX (Customer Experience) platform “KARTE” and professional service “PLAID ALPHA“. The goal is for Itokin’s staff to be able to analyze customer data themselves and independently conceive and execute personalized communication strategies for each customer.
ITOKIN, which operates approximately 20 diverse brands including “avv,” “Sybilla,” and “MICHEL KLEIN,” has been strengthening its connection with customers through digital means, including significantly revamping the “ITOKIN Group Official App” in October 2025, which will integrate the group brands.

As Itokin aimed to further improve the customer experience, it faced challenges in achieving agile communication tailored to the individual circumstances of each customer. Furthermore, in terms of data extraction and analysis, it was important to develop a system to become a “self-sustaining organization” capable of utilizing data to drive initiatives, as well as to streamline operations through the construction of a data infrastructure with a view to the medium to long term use of AI.
Against this backdrop, the KARTE series, which can analyze 1st Party Customer Data (customer data generated and collected by companies at their own touchpoints) in real time to achieve a deeper understanding of customers and improve the customer experience at all touchpoints, along with PLAID ALPHA’s execution capabilities, which handle everything from strategy to technology implementation, and PLAID’s extensive track record and expertise in supporting the apparel industry, led to the launch of this project.
