Sapeet and Sunnet have started jointly developing an AI solution aimed at tackling persistent challenges in Japan’s manufacturing sector, including labor shortages, skills transfer and the growing need to support multinational workforces.
The companies are starting with daily reporting, a routine task that generates valuable operational information but is often recorded manually in Excel and remains difficult to turn into usable knowledge. The solution will support text and voice input, along with multilingual recording, helping younger, experienced and foreign workers create more consistent reports.
The system is also designed to extract troubleshooting examples and practical know-how from veteran workers, while allowing supervisors and managers to review reports and add insights. Factory managers will be able to monitor operational conditions, reporting quality and differences across production lines.

Near-miss and incident reporting will also be handled separately to improve the visibility of urgent information and handovers.
The companies say they plan to wrap up the work and share the release in autumn 2026.
Their main focus is an AI system that improves as they collect more workplace information. They are not building it for only one type of report. They also do not want it tied to a single company, used only in one place.
