Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (hereafter, Mitsubishi Motors) and Foxtron Vehicle Technologies Co., Ltd. (hereafter, Foxtron), a subsidiary of Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., Ltd. Foxconn, known for electric vehicle development, have signed an MOU with Mitsubishi Motors. This agreement is for supplying an electric vehicle (EV) model created by Foxtron. Both parties have agreed to move forward with further discussions.
Foxtron will develop the EV model. Yulon Motor Co., Ltd. will manufacture it in Taiwan. This vehicle will be supplied as an OEM product. (Yulon Motor). Mitsubishi Motors will launch the vehicle in Oceania. This includes Australia and New Zealand. The release is set for the second half of 2026. This model is part of the product plan for Australia announced last year. It will run through 2030. It offers great driving performance as an EV. Plus, it has a smart infotainment system, which fits the Oceania market well. Mitsubishi Motors and Foxtron will keep talking about a final agreement based on this MOU.

Mitsubishi Motors is advancing its environmental initiatives through the electrification of new models. This includes upgrades to the Outlander plug-in hybrid EV (PHEV). It also adds hybrid EV versions to the popular Xpander and Xforce models in the ASEAN region. Mitsubishi Motors, alongside Foxconn, plans to grow its electrified vehicle lineup. They will leverage the Alliance’s strengths. This includes sourcing OEM models from Renault Group in Europe and Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. in North America. Mitsubishi Motors aims to expand partnerships with Alliance members globally, focusing on Oceania. This aims to boost its electric vehicle range and speed up the journey to carbon neutrality.
