Mastercard has appointed Joyce Bo as Executive Vice President, Core Payments, Asia Pacific, further strengthening its regional leadership as digital payments, AI-enabled commerce, and emerging payment technologies continue to reshape the financial services landscape. The appointment is part of a broader leadership expansion announced by the company for the Asia Pacific region.
Bo joins Mastercard from Ant International, where she served as General Manager, leading payment innovation and the policy center for Alipay+, the company’s global digital wallet gateway. She brings extensive experience in developing and commercializing digital payment solutions across Asia, supported by nearly a decade in investment banking and private equity with Morgan Stanley and HSBC in Hong Kong.
In her new role, Bo will oversee Mastercard’s Core Payments business across Asia Pacific. Her responsibilities span consumer payment products, digital platforms, merchant acceptance, payment networks, account-to-account capabilities, payment optimization, and digital assets. As consumer expectations evolve and businesses accelerate digital transformation, these areas are becoming increasingly important in enabling secure, seamless, and intelligent payment experiences.
