NTT Data Advanced Technology announced that it will provide an AI agent specialized in the transfer of tacit knowledge to the NTT Data Group’s professional services. Recently, the demand for IT personnel has been increasing due to the expansion of IT use, the decline in the working population, and changes in the demand structure due to the advancement of information technology.
In particular, the shortage of IT personnel with advanced skills based on extensive experience has become prominent. The NTT Data Group provides professional services called “Makaseinou” that provide system design support and project support by solving performance and non-functional problems. The transfer of advanced IT skills has also become an urgent issue for the organization. At Makaseinou, the know-how and knowledge gained from many years of support has been kept within the organization as documents and tacit knowledge.

On the other hand, the transfer of skills to members within the organization is often limited to desk learning or content related to the projects in which the organization was in charge, and a method of transferring accumulated knowledge more effectively was sought. In this initiative, an AI agent will be built to search and utilize the know-how and tacit knowledge that Makaseinou has accumulated through many years of project support. This AI agent searches and integrates information accumulated over a long period of time in various information sources within the organization and returns appropriate answers, allowing Macaseinou’s consultants to receive support from the AI agent that is equivalent to that received from specialists with extensive experience and advanced IT skills. This enables Macaseinou’s consultants to formulate their own hypotheses for complex technical issues based on past knowledge and work autonomously towards solving them. It also promotes the conversion of tacit knowledge to explicit knowledge, making it easier to deploy knowledge within an organization, and is expected to be used for human resource development.
