Terra Drone Inc. will simultaneously release its self-developed indoor visual inspection drone “Terra Xross 1” in both Japan and the United States on January 30, 2025. This product is the first indoor inspection drone that Terra Drone has handled from development to production consistently (*1), and by installing a visual sensor and Lidar, it achieves stable flight performance. In addition, by offering it at a low price of about one-third of conventional models for the same purpose, it is a product that can be used by more customers.
Indoor inspection work often involves work at high altitudes and in narrow spaces, and there were cases where conventional inspection methods could not ensure the safety of workers. In addition, preparation for work required time, costs, and manpower, such as assembling scaffolding, and efficiency was also an issue. By using drones, it is expected that the safety and efficiency of such inspection work at high altitudes and in narrow spaces will be significantly improved. On the other hand, conventional drone solutions have difficulty in stably flying many indoor drones because the GPS used for stable flight of outdoor drones cannot be used indoors, and advanced technology is required for operation. In addition, some existing models that have achieved stable flight indoors with high performance are very expensive, so the cost is a major obstacle to introduction, and the current situation is that many companies have not progressed in using drones indoors. To solve these issues, Terra Drone developed the “Terra Xross 1”.

This product is equipped with a visual sensor and Lidar, and by utilizing our proprietary technology, it achieves stable flight, making it a drone that anyone can easily fly indoors. In addition, because it is an in-house developed product, we are able to offer this product at a low price. In addition, by simultaneously providing “Terra Xross Cloud”, which allows the acquired data to be easily managed and shared in 3D, smoother data management is possible. This provides a new solution that achieves a high level of safety, efficiency, and cost.
