Japanese construction company Fukuchi-gumi has adopted LINE WORKS PaperOn, an AI document processing service, to reduce the time spent handling supplier quotations. The system uses AI-powered optical character recognition and generative AI to digitize documents received in different formats.
Previously, employees spent 10 to 15 minutes manually transcribing each quotation into the company’s cost management system. With PaperOn, the process takes about one minute. In some cases, processing time has fallen by around 70%, including a reduction from 40 hours to 12 hours per project.

The firm expects to save almost 100 man-hours a month as more employees use the software. Additionally, the firm will extend this software to process other documents. This shows how document processing via AI reduces the burden of administration in the construction sector due to its inconsistent document handling.
