Sigenergy has officially launched its brand in Sri Lanka expanding its reach in South Asia’s growing energy market. The launch was announced on October 15 2026. Brings the company’s residential and commercial energy solutions to a country where solar power and energy storage are becoming more important for both homes and businesses.
The launch event took place in Colombo. Brought together industry leaders, business partners and customers to talk about smart energy technologies. Rohana Rambodage, Director General of the Sri Lanka Sustainable Energy Authority spoke at the opening. He talked about the importance of energy and how working together across the industry can help achieve long-term goals. Sigenergy said it plans to team up with partners to help Sri Lanka meet its renewable energy targets.
SigenStor Neo Takes Centre Stage
One of the highlights of the launch was the SigenStor Neo series. This is a in-one energy solution built for homes, small businesses and larger industrial customers. During the event Shawn Li, Sigenergy’s Solution Director presented the SigenStor Neo series along with the company’s energy products.
The SigenStor Neo series connects parts of an energy system to help users manage how they generate, store and use electricity. Sigenergy said this system can help people use solar power they generate at home and also take advantage of electricity pricing plans like nighttime peak feed-in tariffs.
With this integrated system users can match their generation with battery storage and their daily energy needs. When the sun isn’t shining stored power can be used of drawing from the grid. That can lower electricity bills at times.. How much money people save depends on how the system is set up local electricity prices, installation costs and how much power they use.
Sigenergy also showed off its range of solutions. These can be adjusted to fit the energy needs of homes, businesses or bigger projects. The company did not say how units they plan to sell or give exact numbers on how much money customers, in Sri Lanka could save.
Partnerships to Build Local Distribution
The launch included a strategic distributor partnership signing between Sigenergy and Storex Renewables. Sigenergy and Storex Renewables also signed memorandums of understanding with installer partners Penta Prime and Solar Therm.
These agreements are intended to strengthen Sigenergy’s distribution and installation network. By working with partners energy technology providers can reach customers, coordinate installation and provide technical support in individual markets.
For battery storage systems local implementation is an important part of deployment. System design, compatibility with existing installations, installation quality and after‑sales service can all affect performance over time.
The partnerships provide Sigenergy with a route to expand access to Sigenergy’s solutions in Sri Lanka. The announcement did not disclose the value of the agreements or specify how many installations the partners expect to complete.
Smart Energy and the Role of Storage
Solar energy systems are increasingly being combined with battery storage and digital energy management tools. Solar panels generate electricity during daylight hours. Storage can help users shift some of that energy to periods depending on battery capacity and system design.
This combination may be particularly relevant for businesses seeking to manage electricity use across operating hours. Residential customers may also use storage to increase self‑consumption of power or provide backup electricity where the system supports that function.
Sigenergy’s portfolio spans photovoltaic generation, energy storage and electric vehicle charging solutions. Sigenergy says its products integrate intelligence and artificial intelligence under Sigenergy’s “AI, in All” strategy. The Sri Lanka launch presentation focused on Sigenergy’s commercial offerings but the announcement did not identify specific AI‑powered features newly introduced to the country.
The adoption of these technologies will depend on factors including costs, financing, electricity tariffs, grid requirements and the availability of reliable installation and maintenance services.
Sigenergy’s Regional Expansion
Founded in 2022 and headquartered in Shanghai Sigenergy develops technologies across power generation, energy storage and EV charging. Sigenergy’s Sri Lanka launch adds another market to its international expansion efforts.

Sigenergy’s strategy relies on a combination of integrated energy products and local partnerships. For Sri Lanka the immediate focus will be on making Sigenergy’s residential and commercial solutions available through distribution and installation channels.
The launch itself marks the start of a market-development effort rather than evidence of large‑scale deployment. Future progress will depend on customer adoption the performance of installed systems and the ability of partners to support implementation.
As energy users look for ways to coordinate generation, storage and consumption integrated systems are likely to remain part of the discussion around distributed energy. Sigenergy’s expansion establishes a local presence, with the scale of its impact, in Sri Lanka still to be demonstrated.
