HP Japan Inc. announced the launch of the Japanese version of “HP Build Workspace,” a cloud-based project management and collaboration platform for professionals in the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry. “HP Build Workspace” bridges the gap between physical and digital workflows by incorporating “HP AI Vectorization,” an AI-driven drawing vectorization function. It enables the rapid and accurate conversion of traditional drawings and field sketches into CAD-compatible files, reducing project delays, strengthening broad team collaboration and productivity, and enhancing data security in hybrid work environments.
In the AEC industry, where distributed team structures and tight schedules are required, a gap exists between digital design data and paper drawings used on-site. While digital drawings are frequently updated, paper drawings may not reflect these updates, leading to errors, delays, rework, and unnecessary costs due to inconsistent drawing versions. To address these challenges, HP Japan is now launching “HP Build Workspace” in Japan, which has already been offered in the United States and select countries. Along with Japanese language support, enhancements have been made to the AI-driven drawing vectorization function, “HP AI Vectorization,” including its Japanese OCR reading capability.

“HP Build Workspace” is a cloud service that centrally manages paper and digital drawings, streamlining drawing sharing, management, and collaborative work. In addition to managing and sharing digitized drawing data (such as scanned drawings) on the cloud, it provides a version control function linked to QR codes that seamlessly synchronizes paper drawings with the latest digital drawings, ensuring that users can always work in real time based on the correct drawings. Furthermore, the built-in “HP AI Vectorization” function automatically converts scanned raster drawings into editable CAD files. This streamlines design modification work and can reduce drafting time by up to 80% . “HP Build Workspace” is available free of charge. Only the download function for CAD files converted by “HP AI Vectorization” is available for a fee from October 2026.
