Proxima Technology Co., Ltd. and PiLink Co., Ltd. are pleased to announce the joint development of “PL-UPS,” a UPS for industrial Raspberry Pi.
This product temporarily supplies power to the Raspberry Pi during power outages or momentary voltage drops, supporting a safe shutdown and contributing to the protection of the OS, file system, and important data, as well as stable operation in industrial settings.
Background of Development
In the manufacturing industry, the use of edge computing, which processes equipment data collection and visualization, image analysis, predictive maintenance, and AI control on-site, is expanding. With its abundant software assets and high scalability, the Raspberry Pi has become a powerful platform for industrial applications.

On the other hand, in factory and equipment environments, computers may unexpectedly shut down due to momentary power outages, power interruptions during equipment maintenance, or power system switching. A sudden power outage during a write operation can lead to data loss or file system corruption, making power protection crucial for industrial applications requiring long-term continuous operation.
Proxima Technology, which has been providing the manufacturing control AI solution “Smart MPC®,” and PiLink, which designs and manufactures industrial Raspberry Pi and peripheral hardware, have combined their respective expertise to jointly develop a UPS that is easy to implement on-site.
