The Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP) is pushing ahead with its efforts to promote responsible AI governance, kind of in step with a collaboration with Japan’s AI Governance Association (AIGA). This partnership really aims at letting organizations get a clearer picture of AI technologies, the kinds of risks that tend to travel with them, and which governance practices should be used for responsible rollouts.
In practice, GARP and AIGA will work together to raise awareness about both ‘classic’ AI and generative AI models, including how these things actually operate, and the potential business social, and ethical snags they might cause. The whole initiative is also set to spotlight practical frameworks, along with the more industry-recognized methods that professionals can lean on to handle AI risks and, in general, to strengthen governance processes.

As part of the push, GARP and AIGA plan to back knowledge sharing through joint events as well as educational activities across Japan, and yeah, keep it moving. The collaboration will also expand regional access to GARP’s Risk and AI (RAI) Certificate, aimed at helping professionals develop the skills needed to oversee AI systems responsibly as adoption continues to grow across industries.
