JEMS Co., Ltd., which provides the core system “Kankyo Shogun R” for waste treatment and recycling companies, is pleased to announce that it has begun discussions with Odakyu Electric Railway Co., Ltd., which develops “WOOMS,” a technology-based solution for improving the efficiency of collection and transportation, regarding the integration of the two companies’ services in order to accelerate digital transformation (DX) in waste collection and treatment operations.
Background and Objectives of the Collaborative Discussion
In the waste management and resource recycling industry, the shortage of drivers due to the declining workforce and the need to address work-style reforms brought about by the “2024 problem” are urgent issues. On the other hand, many analog tasks, such as transcribing handwritten daily reports and duplicate data entry, still remain in collection site operations and office management tasks (sales, billing, manifest management, etc.), hindering operational efficiency.
To address these challenges, we have begun discussions on integrating “Kankyo Shogun R,” a core system with a top-class track record of implementations in the industry, with “WOOMS App & Portal,” a system with a proven track record of significantly improving collection efficiency for local governments and private businesses. By combining the strengths of both companies, we aim to seamlessly integrate on-site collection data with contract and billing data from the core system, thereby reducing administrative work and improving the visibility of management.

Through this collaboration, we aim to provide solutions that simultaneously reduce administrative costs and improve on-site productivity for waste management companies. To this end, we will first organize business requirements and consider data linkage methods, proceeding with a view to phased implementation. In parallel, we will work on joint proposals to local governments and private businesses that leverage each other’s strengths, and on creating new value toward building a sustainable resource recycling society.
