LINE Yahoo! Japan Corporation has integrated its previously offered “Yahoo! JAPAN AI Assistant” and “LINE AI” from “LINE” and will begin offering a new AI agent brand, “Agent i,” based on the concept of “AI that anyone can use, right by your side every day.” “Agent i” is an AI agent (web service) that can be seamlessly accessed with a single tap from both “LINE” and “Yahoo! JAPAN” services. Users can resolve various questions and receive suggestions through conversations with “Agent i” from the services they use on a daily basis. In the future, functions to support task management and execution will also be provided.
Features of “Agent i”
① Ease of use
The “Agent i” icon appears in each tab of “LINE” and next to the search bar of “Yahoo! JAPAN,” allowing you to access “Agent i” with a single tap from services you use daily. It eliminates the need to enter complex prompts, making it easy to request task assistance, and employs an intuitive UX where you can find the necessary information by simply tapping options that match your interests.
② Accurate information and optimal proposals
LINE Yahoo will appropriately utilize unique data obtained from over 100 services to provide diverse options and opportunities for new discoveries. Furthermore, by June 2026, we plan to implement a memory function that optimizes responses and support based on user usage and settings, while also respecting privacy. In addition, by leveraging information from “LINE Official Accounts,” used by over 1 million diverse companies and stores, and eventually integrating with “Agent i,” we will expand our information to be even more accurate and reliable. This will enable us to suggest the most suitable options tailored to each user’s situation.
③ Execution ability
We plan to implement a feature that can handle complex tasks on your behalf around June 2026. In the future, “Agent i” will act as a supportive presence for users, handling tasks tailored to their needs through various domain agents. Furthermore, by integrating with LINE official accounts, we plan to provide a function that consistently supports task execution, including not only reservations and purchases but also after-sales support, while prioritizing security.

In addition to the above, we plan to gradually roll out “LINE OA AI Mode” from around summer 2026, which will allow anyone to easily build an AI agent using “LINE Official Account” for businesses and stores. This function will enable the provision of optimal communication tailored to the user’s needs and circumstances. Furthermore, “Agent i Biz,” an AI agent that provides end-to-end support for the entire process from strategy formulation to implementation, is scheduled to be available from August 2026.
Furthermore, starting with “Agent i,” we also plan to implement agentic advancements in “Yahoo! JAPAN” and “LINE.” On the “Yahoo! JAPAN” homepage, we plan to improve search, notification, and topics functions, while the “LINE” app will offer new experiences such as “Mood Analysis,” which analyzes relationships with friends and suggests conversations based on messages in chat rooms, and optimization of the home tab.
