Everyone wants AI. Few have their data in shape to actually use it.
Mitsubishi UFJ Trust and Banking Corporation is trying to fix that by rolling out Box, Inc. as its company-wide content platform. The goal is simple. Move scattered data into one controlled environment and make it usable.
This sits inside a broader DX push where the bank is modernizing systems, tightening security, and preparing for AI-led operations. Right now, their content lives across multiple systems. That slows everything down and makes governance harder. Box becomes the layer that centralizes this unstructured data while keeping enterprise-grade control intact.

The AI angle is where this gets interesting. The bank is not just storing files. It is setting up a base to extract context from that data across functions like market and retail operations. That only works if the data is organized and accessible.
Use cases are practical. Centralized data access together with stricter access controls and complete audit trails and better system interoperability and the implementation of AI-powered knowledge management will be adopted.
Zoom out and this is the real AI story in finance. Not flashy models. Fixing data plumbing first. Without that, AI is just noise.
