Kao has started using ASUENE. It is a cloud service. It helps them see their CO2 emissions. It helps them reduce emissions. It helps them report emissions. They are leaving behind an old system. This system was more than 20 years old. It worked before but it is too old now. The rules are getting stricter. Companies must report more accurately. They need to have internal controls. They need to be ready for third-party checks. In Japan there is SSBJ. Globally there is CDP. In Europe there is CSRD. Companies have to follow these.
Kao has a plan. It is called the Kirei Lifestyle Plan. It wants carbon zero by 2040. It wants carbon negative by 2050. The old system cannot do everything needed for this plan. It cannot handle global operations. It cannot link emissions and ESG data well. It is not ready for audits or future rules. ASUENE can do these things. It joins somewhere between Scope 1, 2, and (perhaps) even 3 emissions. It can also connect with ESG data. It lets Kao move old data into the new system. Staff can use it more easily. It gives flexible analysis. It helps with compliance.

Kao will use ASUENE to manage emissions. They will also look at suppliers. They will calculate carbon footprints in purchasing. They will manage ESG data together. They will follow international reporting rules. This shows a change in the industry. Companies cannot just report numbers anymore. They need real systems that work and can be checked.
