Heartland Data has become a wholly owned subsidiary of Nippon Nobel, bringing the two companies together under a new group structure effective August 31, 2026. Heartland Data develops and sells tools that support embedded system development, while Nippon Nobel works across software development, system evaluation and quality verification.
The move comes as companies across industries push ahead with DX and face growing pressure to improve both software development speed and quality. By combining their capabilities, the companies plan to offer a broader quality engineering setup covering contract development, testing tools and consulting.
A major focus will be joint product development. Heartland Data and Nippon Nobel plan to work on new testing and quality support products, with an eye on strengthening their position in Japan and taking these products into overseas markets.
AI will also become a group-wide priority. The companies will look at using AI across development and verification work, with the aim of improving efficiency and introducing new technology into their operations.

The integration will not mean wiping out Heartland Data’s existing culture or regional operations. Both companies say they intend to maintain stable service delivery while creating more opportunities for employees to work across the combined capabilities.
They also plan to jointly exhibit at Japan DX & AX Week at Makuhari Messe in October 2026.
As part of the new management structure, Itaru Shimoyama, Representative Director of Nippon Nobel, will also serve as President and Representative Director of Heartland Data. Ryo Ochiai will become Chairman of the Board, while Masahiko Sone will serve as Board Member and Vice Chairman.
