Hitachi Solutions Create, Ltd. has incorporated Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC), which is resistant to attacks by quantum computers, into “DoMobile,” a remote access system that enables remote work and which has been available since 2002. The system will be available as “DoMobile Ver. 5” from January 15th.
This will enable remote access communications in a more secure environment than ever before, and will help reduce information security risks and support stable, continuous use by providing countermeasures against cyberattacks against remote access communications using quantum computers, which are becoming a growing threat as they become more widely used.
Hybrid work, which combines remote work and office work, has become more common in recent years. However, the risk of cyber attacks targeting remote work environments cannot be ignored.

Public key cryptography using RSA or ECC, which is commonly used to encrypt communications for remote work, has been considered highly secure because it requires a huge amount of time and resources to decrypt using current computers.
However, quantum computers have evolved far beyond expectations in recent years, and it has been pointed out that quantum computers may be able to decrypt previously secure encryption methods in a short time in the near future. Under these circumstances, the threat of “Harvest Now, Decrypt Later (HNDL) attacks*1” has become a serious concern, especially for medical records and financial transaction data that must be kept confidential for a long period of time.
As a solution to these problems, the adoption of PQC, which is said to be difficult to decipher even with a quantum computer, is attracting attention. Standardization is also progressing as this will enable the realization of an environment in which important information can be safely protected into the future, and the Financial Services Agency is urging financial institutions to make an early and steady transition to PQC.
Hitachi Solutions Create has been providing the remote access system “DoMobile” since 2002. To date, DoMobile has been provided to a total of approximately 7,000 companies and 36,000 users in industries such as the financial sector who require remote access communications in a secure environment. In particular, during the COVID-19 pandemic, DoMobile has proven to be a proven solution adopted by many customers as a means of enabling remote work from home or other locations in a short period of time while maintaining security.
Now, ahead of other companies, we are releasing “DoMobile Ver.5,” a remote access software product equipped with PQC functionality that is sufficiently resistant to cyber attacks using quantum computers for remote access communications (based on our research in January 2014).
This enables remote access communication in a more secure environment than ever before, reducing information security risks during operations such as remote work and supporting stable, continuous use.
