Hammock has added a new option called Risk Detection to AssetView Cloud +, part of its AssetView IT operations management lineup. The focus is internal risk. Not firewalls. Not external attackers. People, devices, and what actually happens on company PCs.
The backdrop matters. Internal information leaks have been ranked among Japan’s top corporate security threats for ten straight years. Remote and hybrid work only made things messier. Logs exist everywhere, but most companies just store them. They rarely interpret them in a way that leads to action. Risk Detection is built to change that.

The new option analyzes PC operation logs and turns them into risk scores. These scores highlight potential signs of information leaks or internal fraud and surface them through dashboards. The analysis is rule-based, designed to handle large volumes of logs without advanced expertise. IT teams can track trends by time period, operation type, or risk category and decide what needs attention next.
Use cases are practical. Detecting suspicious file removals, unusual printing activity, risky use of external storage, or abnormal access during remote work. The broader signal here is clear. The industry is moving from log collection to log interpretation. Visibility is no longer enough. Early signal detection is becoming the real line of defense.
