UiPath and NTT DATA WIZ have announced a strategic collaboration that will integrate UiPath’s Agentic Automation technology into NTT DATA WIZ’s business process outsourcing operations. The partnership marks a major step toward redefining enterprise BPO by merging the precision of traditional robotic process automation with the contextual intelligence of AI agents, enabling end-to-end automation across increasingly complex workflows.
NTT DATA WIZ, formed in April through the integration of NTT DATA Management Services and NTT DATA Smart Sourcing, specializes in handling a wide range of back-office and administrative processes for Japanese enterprises. By incorporating UiPath’s agent-driven automation technology directly into its BPO delivery sites, the company aims to significantly enhance operational efficiency, streamline human-machine collaboration, and deliver new levels of scalability for clients seeking modernization.
At the core of this collaboration is UiPath’s vision for agentic automation, a new paradigm that fuses software robots with generative AI–driven agents capable of understanding text, invoices, diagrams, and unstructured instructions traditionally handled by humans. UiPath Co-Founder and CEO Daniel Dines described a typical example at the press conference, outlining how an incoming email invoice triggers a series of automated, agent-led steps. An AI agent first reads the invoice, extracts its content, and provides a summary for human confirmation. Another agent interprets accounting codes and passes them to a human accountant. A UiPath robot then enters the information into the company’s ERP system. According to Dines, this coordinated workflow illustrates how agentic automation can weave humans, robots, and AI into a unified process that improves both accuracy and speed.

The technology foundation for this automation includes UiPath Studio for workflow design, Agent Builder for creating AI agents powered by large language models, UiPath Robots for task execution, Orchestrator for operational scheduling and resource management, and Maestro for designing end-to-end workflows that integrate human approvals and business rules using BPMN standards. Together, these components allow enterprises to rebuild business workflows from the ground up, combining AI assistants and deterministic automation into a single orchestrated environment.
The collaboration will initially focus on modernizing internal BPO workflows at NTT DATA WIZ, with a strong emphasis on developing talent capable of building, deploying, and managing agentic automation. As UiPath Executive Officer Takashi Ishimoto emphasized, advancing human skills in agent automation is the foundation for scaling its benefits to enterprise clients. NTT DATA WIZ, which often inherits customer workflows exactly as they exist before optimizing them, sees agentic automation as a catalyst for redesigning outdated or fragmented business processes and turning them into industry-standardized operational models. Director Mayumi Hayashi noted that the introduction of AI agents offers an opportunity to generalize and modernize disparate legacy workflows, creating a new era of BPO that is not merely labor-efficient but structurally intelligent.
The partnership signals the growing shift in the BPO sector toward AI-native process engineering. Rather than simply outsourcing manual work, enterprises are increasingly seeking partners who can blend automation, judgment, and human oversight into scalable digital operations. UiPath’s agentic framework gives NTT DATA WIZ a foundation for delivering this transformation at scale, reducing cycle times, improving accuracy, and enabling deeper integration between client systems and BPO automation environments.
As both companies expand their collaboration, the integration of AI agents is expected to reshape how enterprise back-office functions are outsourced and optimized in Japan. The partnership aims to position NTT DATA WIZ as a leader in next-generation BPO and reinforce UiPath’s role as a core automation platform for organizations redesigning their operational architecture for the AI era.
