NEC Corporation announced on October 8 the upcoming release of its enhanced “Kurumi-e Generative AI Version,” available from October 14. This cloud-based safe driving support service integrates dashcam footage, driving data, and mobile inputs to provide AI-driven safety guidance for fleet management.
The upgraded service uses image recognition AI and generative AI. It automatically finds and analyzes high-risk driving situations, like near misses at crosswalks or red lights. It tags key video segments. This lets safety managers quickly check important footage without manual searching. The system generates personalized driving tips. This helps standardize safety advice for all drivers and reduces dependence on individual managers’ experience. For example, it can suggest situational instructions like adjusting braking behavior at yellow lights.

By identifying driver-specific risk patterns and compiling similar cases, Kurumi-e enables data-driven training and operational planning to enhance safety across fleets. The new version streamlines safety management, reduces workload, and supports corporate digital transformation in driving operations, offering a scalable solution to improve road safety and operational efficiency.
