Timee Corporation, which provides the part-time job service “Timee”, has signed a comprehensive partnership agreement with Ishigaki City, Okinawa Prefecture. This is the first time that the company has collaborated with a local government in Okinawa Prefecture.
Ishigaki City is the central city of the Yaeyama Islands, located about 400 km southwest of the main island of Okinawa, and is an attractive city with rich nature and unique culture. It is a popular tourist destination as an island of perpetual summer surrounded by beautiful subtropical nature, with many specialty products such as crafts such as textiles, pottery, and woodwork, as well as food, fruit, alcohol, and flowers. The number of tourists who visited Ishigaki City in 2024 was about 1.41 million, an increase of 19.6% from the previous year, and is about 95.9% of the level in 2019 before the COVID-19 pandemic, and tourism demand, which had declined due to the COVID-19 pandemic, is recovering.
Ishigaki City’s population is on the rise, increasing by 5,860 people in 25 years, from 41,777 people (1995) to 47,637 people (2020). Furthermore, in July 2023, the city achieved its first population of 50,000 people, and the population outflow and decline, which are issues facing many local governments, and the declining birthrate and aging population are not significant issues. On the other hand, with the rapid recovery of tourism demand, the number of new job openings in 2022 was 5,981, an increase of 6.9% from the previous year, while the number of new job applications was 3,021, a decrease of 13.1% from the previous year, resulting in a serious labor shortage.

Therefore, we have concluded this partnership agreement with the aim of using “Timee” to solve the problems facing Ishigaki City. In order to promote the resolution of local issues in Ishigaki City and the revitalization of the local economy, this partnership agreement aims to create an environment where business owners and workers can easily use “Timee” under our company’s mission of “creating infrastructure that expands life’s possibilities through work.”
