Veeva Systems announced a major initiative called ” Veeva AI ,” which adds capabilities such as “AI Agents” and “AI Shortcuts” to the existing Veeva Vault Platform and Veeva applications to help life sciences companies automate business processes and improve employee productivity .
Veeva AI provides application-specific AI Agents based on large language models (LLMs) to quickly and efficiently infuse AI into existing Veeva applications, and AI Shortcuts to improve end-user productivity. Veeva AI works across all Veeva applications in all major areas, including clinical, regulatory, safety, quality, medical, and commercial.
Veeva AI Agents are fast to deploy and highly effective, understand the context of work happening in Veeva applications, have application-specific prompts and safeguards, and can securely access application data, documents, and workflows directly.

Customers can flexibly configure and extend Veeva’s AI Agents to build custom AI Agents for their own use cases. AI Agents can be used through a chatbot user interface or invoked via AI APIs.
Veeva AI Shortcuts provide end users with the ability to easily automate common tasks with AI, such as workflow assistance, insight generation, and topic research.
“Generative AI is a new computing paradigm that will dramatically improve the productivity of knowledge workers,” said Peter Gassner, CEO of Veeva. “Core applications provide structured data, business rules, and workflows that run at the speed, consistency, and scale we expect from computers. Generative AI brings a more human-like ability to derive answers and insights from ambiguous situations that deal with language, context, and a broad range of knowledge. Core applications and generative AI work seamlessly together to dramatically improve productivity.”
Veeva AI is LLM-agnostic and supports many of the leading LLMs. Customers can use a Veeva-provided LLM or configure Veeva AI to use their own LLM. Regardless of which LLM they use, Veeva AI secures their data.
CEO Peter Gassner added, “Our customers rely on Veeva applications for their most critical industry-specific processes, from clinical to commercial, to improve productivity with AI and ultimately get treatment to patients faster. By adding Veeva AI to our core applications, life sciences companies of all sizes can take advantage of AI in a simple, secure, and compliant way.” The first release of Veeva AI is expected in December 2025. To drive broad, thoughtful adoption across the industry, it will be licensed by the vault with simple, affordable subscription pricing.
