Heartland Data Co., Ltd. has signed an official distribution agreement with Jama Software, Inc. to bring its requirements management and application lifecycle management platform, Jama Connect, to Japan. The company will also provide implementation and operational support to help businesses manage increasingly complex product development projects.
The move expands Heartland Data’s existing portfolio of development quality solutions, which includes the dynamic testing tool DT Series, the test automation platform AUTOmeal and the process management solution Stages. The offerings are aimed at embedded software development, from process regularity through testing and verification.
These problems are being taken care of through the revised specification. The new specification takes into account various challenges faced by the automotive, medical device, aerospace, and other industries. The complexity of design makes it imperative for the compliance of standards such as ISO 26262, IEC 62304, Automotive SPICE. It is hard to achieve such compliance if the development is not well coordinated and requirements management is document based.

Jama Connect will work on solving them with direct, real-time, bidirectional traceability among requirements, specifications, and test cases. Jama Connect with its Traceability Information Model can link customers’ demands to system and software requirements and testing, enabling users to identify gaps in test coverage and assess the effect of any requirements or changes. It has built-in versioning capabilities, review and approval functionality, audit trail capability, and integration capabilities with Jira, Git, and IDEs via Model Context Protocol.
Heartland Data intends to integrate Jama Connect with other solutions it offers to the development lifecycle. Development lifecycle stages will assist organizations in defining and managing development workflows; AUTOmeal and DT Series will enable test automation and dynamic analysis.
This combined product would be highly suitable for application in industries that require traceability and quality assurance, including those involving automobiles, medical devices, aerospace and defense, and advanced semiconductor design. Heartland Data’s approach is designed to enable requirements definition to be aligned with testing and verification, so development quality can be improved and rework costs minimized.
