Canon Marketing Japan Inc. , Canon IT Solutions Inc., and Canon System & Support Inc. will expand their services to support compliance with the “Security Measures Evaluation System for Strengthening Supply Chains (SCS Evaluation System)” promoted by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, and will establish a system to provide one-stop support from evaluation acquisition to operation and improvement.
Background
In recent years, ensuring security across the entire supply chain has become a critical management issue, and there is a growing demand for security measures exceeding a certain level in inter-company transactions. In response to this situation, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry is developing the “SCS Evaluation System”, which evaluates and visualizes the security measures of companies using common standards, and continuous security enhancement is required throughout the entire supply chain, including not only the client company but also the contracted companies. On the other hand, according to a survey by Canon ITS, 54.1% of the supplier company representatives surveyed cited a lack of specialized personnel as a challenge in responding to the SCS Evaluation System, and it is particularly difficult for small and medium-sized enterprises to obtain evaluations and to proceed with continuous operation and improvement on their own.
