ITOCHU Techno-Solutions Corporation has begun collaboration with Jij Inc., a developer of software for quantum computers, to strengthen the quantum computing utilization support service “Cubit X”. By utilizing the quantum algorithm development platform “JijZept” provided by Jij, we will support the development of applications using quantum computers, leading to shortened development times. We will develop Cubit X mainly for companies that are working on the business use of quantum computers, aiming for sales of 3 billion yen in three years.
Additionally, we have signed the first agency agreement in Japan for JijZept, and will begin offering the service from today.
Quantum computers are being used to solve combinatorial optimization problems, which involve deriving optimal combinations from a vast number of options, and are attracting attention for their use in many industries, including production planning in manufacturing and planning delivery routes in the logistics industry, where optimization can lead to solutions. However, to fully utilize their performance, programming suited to quantum computers is necessary, and advanced knowledge of quantum computing is also required.

Cubit X is a group of services unique to CTC that supports the use of quantum computing. It includes a cloud platform that bundles multiple quantum computers, managed services, assessment services, and a development environment for quantum algorithms.
JijZept is a quantum algorithm development platform with an intuitive interface based on mathematical expressions. It converts mathematical expressions related to combinatorial optimization problems into mathematical expressions for quantum computers, and automatically generates efficient programs for various quantum computers, such as gate methods and annealing methods. Since it learns optimal parameter patterns based on a wealth of calculation examples and data sets, it can eliminate the complex mathematical modeling and parameter adjustment processes that were previously performed manually by experts, and realizes the efficiency of algorithm development, which previously required a lot of time.
Now, by incorporating JijZept into Cubit X, it will be possible to provide comprehensive support for application development using quantum computers, enabling users to reduce development time by up to 70% without needing advanced programming skills.
CTC has been working on research and development into the use of quantum computers since 2017, and began offering Cubit X in 2023, leveraging the know-how it has gained from demonstration experiments aimed at the use of quantum computing, including optimization calculations for wind turbine placement in wind power generation.
We will continue to collaborate with partners and further enhance the functionality of Cubit X to support the use of quantum computing in business.
