IQM Quantum Computers, a top player in superconducting quantum systems, has teamed up with TOYO Corporation. This partnership aims to boost the use of quantum computing technology in Japan.
TOYO, a leader in measurement tech in Japan, will market and distribute IQM’s 5-qubit IQM Spark system. They will also handle the IQM Radiance series of superconducting quantum computers. These systems, designed for on-premises use, range from 20 to 150 qubits.
TOYO will not only distribute hardware but also support the growth of quantum talent. They aim to help these experts blend into Japanese society. Backed by robust government investment, Japan’s quantum ecosystem is undergoing rapid growth.
The partnership shows that both companies support Japan’s national quantum strategy. This plan aims for 10 million domestic quantum technology users by 2030.

This agreement strengthens IQM’s focus on the Asia-Pacific region. It also supports its partnership with Japan’s National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST).
In the past year, IQM has shipped more quantum computers for on-premises use than any other maker. Their systems are now in countries like South Korea, Germany, Italy, Finland, and Poland.
TOYO will use IQM’s quantum technologies and its own skills to diversify its business. The company plans to set up a quantum technology unit by the end of 2025. This unit will focus on new application fields, innovative business models, and real-world use cases. TOYO Corporation wants to offer education and research chances. They will work with stakeholders in the quantum ecosystem.
