Ricoh Japan Co., Ltd. will begin offering the “Materials Inventory Visualization Model for Manufacturing Industries,” which streamlines inventory management in the manufacturing industry and promotes digital transformation, starting April 20, 2026.
In the manufacturing industry, where fluctuations in production plans and labor shortages are commonplace, inventory management of parts and raw materials is often reliant on individual employees or continues to be inefficient, relying on paper and Excel spreadsheets. As a result, it takes time to determine inventory levels, leading to stockouts, excess inventory, and increased workload.
The “Materials Inventory Visualization Model for Manufacturing” utilizes the cloud-based business improvement platform “RICOH kintone plus” to provide an environment where stakeholders can understand inventory status at the necessary time. It offers standardized application templates covering everything from materials master management to production planning, requirements calculation, ordering, receiving/shipping, and inventory management, helping to move away from person-dependent inventory management. Furthermore, because items, screen configurations, and workflows can be flexibly customized to suit the industry and on-site operations, it can be easily implemented and used in a way that aligns with the customer’s business rather than forcing them to adapt their operations to the system. Data linkage between applications allows departments to share the same inventory information, reducing inquiries and transcription work associated with inventory checks.

On the same day, we will also begin offering the “Inventory Management Visualization Model” as part of our efforts to promote DX in the distribution industry. In recent years, with the need to comply with logistics-related legislation and the worsening shortage of drivers and warehouse personnel, the distribution and logistics industry is required to reduce unnecessary inventory movements and manual management tasks, and to digitize operations (DX). This model is a solution mainly for the distribution industry that visualizes the status of incoming and outgoing goods and storage location information for each item and lot, and can be linked with the “Materials Inventory Visualization Model for the Manufacturing Industry”.
By linking both models on RICOH kintone plus, inventory information from manufacturing to distribution can be centrally managed, enabling the creation of a sustainable manufacturing and logistics system through improved operational efficiency, maintenance of optimal inventory levels, and cost reduction.
Ricoh Japan will work closely with our customers to provide optimal solutions tailored to their business needs, supporting their efforts in digital transformation (DX) in their offices and workplaces.
