Vecima Networks has completed its acquisition of Akleza’s CableDiag Proactive Network Maintenance (PNM) platform, adding real-time network analytics capabilities to its Entra Intelligence portfolio. CableDiag is already deployed by more than 25 cable operators and monitors over five million DOCSIS devices across North America.
CableDiag constantly checks broadband network conditions to spot problems before they touch subscribers. Operators can use the CableDiag platform to find faults, ones that can be traced to specific street segments and sometimes fix them from far away. This can cut down on field visits and give technicians more detailed information when they need to go to the site.
The purchase also makes Entra Intelligences AI way of handling network operations better. The system brings together data from sensors, alerts, network layout, settings and past records to help find problems figure out what caused them and suggest ways to fix them. A key aspect is CableDiag’s vendor-agnostic design, allowing operators to use it with leading CMTS and vCMTS platforms without replacing existing network hardware.
The move reflects a wider broadband industry shift toward software-defined, AI-assisted network management, as operators seek faster fault detection, lower maintenance workloads, and more automated approaches to increasingly complex access networks.
