GitLab has expanded a partnership with Google Cloud, to deliver managed GitLab setups on Google Cloud too, using GitLab Certified Managed Service Providers. The whole idea is to help enterprises put together and run their software in ways that feel more secure, more compliant and more data-sovereign, while at the same time making DevSecOps operations seem simpler, like a smoother path through it all.
With this expanded collaboration, organizations can run GitLab on Google Cloud infrastructure, yet keep a solid grip on where their code, pipelines, and security data actually sit. It’s especially useful for companies that work under country specific data residency rules, plus sovereignty expectations, and different regulatory requirements. The managed service providers, like Beyond and Digital Future, will back these deployments too, and they should cut down the operational load that usually comes from infrastructure management.
The announcement also strengthens the companies’ AI partnership. GitLab Duo Agent Platform now supports Google’s latest Gemini models, including Gemini 3.5, with additional Gemini models expected through Google’s Early Access Program. At the same time, GitLab Duo Self-Hosted now supports Google’s Gemma models, including Gemma 4, giving organizations in self-managed and regulated environments more flexibility in selecting AI models.

The expansion builds on a partnership announced in April 2026 and reflects growing demand for integrated DevSecOps platforms that combine software development, security, compliance, and AI capabilities within a single environment.
