ENECHANGE Inc. is pleased to announce that it has added a new external tool integration function using MCP (Model Context Protocol) to its AI chatbot, “Collmbo,” which is used in the company’s business chat tool, “Slack.”
MCP is like a “common language for connecting AI and various external services and tools under the same rules.” With this new function, in addition to the previous simple conversations and question responses by AI, it can now automatically call and link with a variety of external tools. This makes it possible to achieve more advanced business efficiency, such as summarizing web pages and searching documents.
ENECHANGE is actively promoting the use of AI among all employees. We will adopt GPT-4 in 2023 and have established guidelines for the use of ChatGPT for all employees. We have also developed a Slack-integrated chatbot with added logging and filtering functions so that employees can use AI with confidence, and are working on business reform. Through these efforts, we are creating an environment where the convenience of AI can be maximized in daily work.

In recent years, with the evolution of AI technology and the rapid rise in the need for integration with external services, MCP, a standard protocol that smoothly connects AI with various external services and tools, has been attracting attention. There has been an increasing demand within the company for things like “it would be convenient if we could refer to external sites” and “we want to use AI for even more diverse tasks.” In response to this, we have added an external tool calling function that utilizes MCP to “Collmbo.” Support for MCP enables AI to provide an even wider range of business support, such as summarizing web pages and searching documents.
At ENECHANGE, we allow our engineers to release tools they develop in their daily work as open source, and we are committed to contributing to society beyond the boundaries of our company.
