Canon will begin offering “MREAL Collaborator”, XR collaboration software that allows users to share 3DCG using devices compatible with “OpenXR™”, in early July 2026.
With the expansion of the XR market, expectations for XR utilization are rising in the manufacturing industry. However, the complexity of device and software operation, as well as the effort required for data preparation, have resulted in significant operational burdens, hindering full-scale implementation in business operations. Furthermore, even after implementation, differences in worker proficiency lead to variations in work time and video quality, resulting in decreased utilization rates and reliance on skilled workers. “MREAL Collaborator” is XR collaboration software that allows users to easily view 3DCG in actual size in stereoscopic form. Its simple UI allows even users without specialized knowledge of 3DCG to operate it intuitively. In addition, it enables the sharing of 3DCG between remote locations using different XR devices compliant with “OpenXR™”, promoting smooth communication regardless of device or location and supporting strengthened collaboration within teams.
UI redesign enables more intuitive operation.
We have streamlined the functionality and revamped the UI of our existing software, “MREAL Visualizer”, which displays 3DCG on real-world footage. By simplifying the display within the software, it can be operated intuitively not only by 3DCG designers, but also by users without specialized knowledge, such as manufacturing site workers and sales representatives.

Supports collaboration within teams by supporting multiple XR devices.
It complies with “OpenXR™,” the standard specification for device and software specifications in the XR industry. In addition to キヤノン‘s MR (Mixed Reality) system “MREAL,” it can also use third-party devices that support “OpenXR™,” allowing you to build an XR environment while utilizing existing devices. This makes it possible to connect with participants in remote locations online, even across different devices, and to discuss and review while sharing 3DCG in real time. For example, it facilitates the consideration and review of designs using 3DCG from the early stages of development in manufacturing, as well as image sharing between departments. By promoting smooth communication in this way, it contributes to promoting mutual understanding and strengthening collaboration within teams.
