UC Card Co., Ltd. and Ocean Co., Ltd. has entered into a referral service agreement for its refund-type tax exemption system, “Ocean Tax Refund,” and will officially begin handling the referral scheme from April 2026.
Background and purpose of the referral service outsourcing contract
UC Card, with its diverse customer base, and Ocean, which specializes in refund-type tax-free systems, will begin introducing Ocean’s refund-type tax-free system, “Ocean Tax Refund,” to UC Card’s member stores that offer tax-free sales, in order to strengthen their business development.
This agreement will enable UC Card to offer a tax-free system that complies with the tax-free system scheduled to change from November 2026, in addition to its existing payment services. This is expected to promote business support for merchants (stores that conduct tax-free sales) by enabling them to comply with the tax-free system, improving operational efficiency, and increasing sales, as well as improving the satisfaction of visitors to Japan.

Furthermore, through this agreement, Ocean will be able to leverage UC Card‘s customer base to expand the number of duty-free shops that have adopted the refund-type duty-free system.
Moving forward, both companies will continue to explore further collaboration possibilities based on their strong partnership.
