IBM Japan, Ltd. will begin offering its enterprise-向け AI-driven development solution, “AI Lifecycle Shared Engineering Artifacts,” through system construction services starting July 15, 2026.
ALSEA is a solution that systematizes the knowledge and rules necessary for system development in a way that AI can utilize, supporting AI-driven development for enterprises. IBM Japan has been conducting preliminary verification for application to more than 80 companies since April 2026. With this launch, we will fully support the introduction and deployment of AI-driven development tailored to each company’s development standards and requirements.
ALSEA enables AI-driven development for enterprises.
The use of generative AI is expanding from individual development tasks such as code generation and test support to the entire system development process. Based on its long-standing methodologies and development standards for large-scale system development, IBM Japan offers ALSEA as a solution to realize AI-driven development for enterprises.

ALSEA systematizes the knowledge and rules necessary for system development as a “context” that IBM Bob, IBM’s AI agent-driven enterprise development support partner, can understand and utilize. It also provides a “harness” that controls AI behavior and maintains the quality and consistency of deliverables. This allows companies to expand the use of AI-driven development methodologies while ensuring reproducibility and consistency.
Towards expanding the application of ALSEA, IBM Japan has been conducting preliminary verifications since April 2026 for application to more than 80 companies, including financial institutions and manufacturing companies. In this process, they confirmed that in the use of AI in large-scale system development, in addition to ensuring consistency between deliverables and addressing context and size constraints, important themes include application to existing systems and projects, and integration with test automation and agile development.
Based on preliminary validation, ALSEA provides a “harness” function that manages and controls the deliverables generated by AI, and aims to continuously improve the quality and consistency of deliverables through a feedback loop. This enables consistency verification of deliverables generated at each stage from requirements definition to design and implementation, as well as quality control based on development rules.
Furthermore, to address context size constraints, it utilizes IBM Bob’s new “sub-agent” function. By distributing complex development tasks across multiple agents and processing each in an independent context, it enables the expansion of AI utilization in large-scale system development while suppressing context bloat.
今後について 日本IBM will expand the application of its AI-driven development solutions for enterprises, including increasing the application to modernizing existing systems, supporting SAP (ABAP) development, integrating with test automation tools, building cloud infrastructure, and supporting agile development.
