Mitsubishi Electric seems to have finished the full acquisition of Infostellar, so now the cloud based ground station provider is now fully under its control. This comes at a time where the need for satellite ground station networks is climbing, partly because small satellite constellations are growing fast, and also because commercial space services are keep expanding.

Infostellar’s StellarStation platform links ground stations all over the world through the cloud, in a way that helps satellite operators get more flexible, kind of centralized access to communication networks. With 三菱電機 bringing its long standing know how in satellite systems, ground infrastructure, and system integration, and then pairing it with Infostellar’s cloud-native approach, the two sides say they intend to expand their global ground station offerings and make space communications infrastructure feel more reliable overall. The agreement also mirrors the broader movement toward scalable, software-driven space operations.
