Splashtop Inc. has formed a partnership with 株式会社日立ハイテク to expand remote operation and maintenance systems through their application in social infrastructure and industrial technology sectors.
The partnership comes as companies across Japan deal with labor shortages, distributed facilities, and growing pressure to manage equipment without constantly sending workers on-site. Businesses require remote monitoring and maintenance services because these services have become essential for their daily operations.
Splashtop intends to extend its remote access and device management technologies into operational technology environments which extend beyond traditional IT applications. The company highlighted tools such as Splashtop Remote Support for remote troubleshooting and Splashtop Autonomous Endpoint Management for automated device operations and management.

Under the agreement, both companies will work on remote access environments for industrial equipment, advanced monitoring and maintenance services, and new edge-device-based solutions. スプラッシュトップ’s products will also gain wider reach through Hitachi High-Tech’s domestic sales network.
The companies have already completed operational verification using the ‘Armadillo-IoT G4’ industrial IoT gateway from Atmark Techno Co., Ltd.
The broader shift is pretty clear at this point. Industrial operations are steadily moving toward remote-first management models as companies try to maintain infrastructure with fewer people, faster response times, and lower operational overhead.
