Timee Co., Ltd., which provides the part-time job service “Timee,” has concluded an agreement on cooperation and collaboration with Higashiura Town, Aichi Prefecture. This is the second agreement concluded with a local government in Aichi Prefecture.
Higashiura Town in Aichi Prefecture is blessed with a mild climate overlooking Mikawa Bay (Kinuura Bay) and abundant natural beauty, including lush green hills. It is also known as the birthplace of Oda-no-kata, the mother of Tokugawa Ieyasu. The town is rich in agricultural products, including Higashiura grapes, which are cultivated using the hilly terrain, and is full of natural blessings. Furthermore, historical traditional events praying for a bountiful harvest, such as the magnificent Omanto Festival (horse racing) held in various locations, the Dantuku Lion Dance (designated as an intangible folk cultural property of Aichi Prefecture), and the Higashiura Five Villages Insect Memorial Service, are still deeply rooted in the lives of the townspeople.
However, the nationwide challenges of a declining birthrate, an aging population, and a decrease in the working-age population are casting a shadow over agriculture and commerce, which are the core industries that Higashiura Town is proud of. In particular, the serious labor shortage that occurs during harvest seasons, such as grape harvests, and responding to sudden labor demands have become urgent issues for the sustainable development of the local economy and the continuation of traditions.
