As the development of vehicles becomes more and more intricate in the age of connected, autonomous shared, and electric motion, SC Automotive Engineering Co., Ltd. (SCAE) is sort of widening its technical portfolio via a new strategic reseller agreement with Secondmind.
This joint work means SCAE’s first collaboration with a technology company beyond Japan, which is a big step for them. Under the agreement, SCAE will offer Secondmind’s cloud-native engineering software to OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers as part of its development and consulting services. The move is aimed at helping automotive companies improve productivity while managing the growing engineering demands of modern vehicle programs.
Secondmind’s platform uses data-efficient Active Learning to support engineering decisions while reducing dependence on large-scale simulations and extensive physical testing.

The software focuses on two key development areas. The first is design space exploration, where engineers evaluate countless design combinations to meet performance targets. Secondmind claims its solution can reduce simulation requirements by up to 80%, helping teams identify more viable designs in less time and with lower risk of costly rework later in development.
The second is system calibration for e-motors, engines, and other powertrain components. By automating experimental design and prioritizing the most valuable test data, the platform can cut calibration timelines by more than 50%. Mazda Motor Corporation has reported a 59% reduction in engineering hours for calibration compared to conventional methods.
For SCAE, the partnership is another step toward helping Japanese automakers navigate rising development complexity without sacrificing speed, efficiency, or engineering confidence.
