Omron to work together in the strengthening of manufacturing security by leveraging OT security and IT security NTT Docomo Business and Omron are coming together to unify OT and IT security at manufacturing plants. The initiatives bring the integrated factory automation systems of Omron with NTT Group’s expertise and global coverage to security solutions.
The proliferation of connecting production tools to IT networks for AI management, condition monitoring and energy-saving measures presents new vulnerabilities, whether through malicious malware or cyberattacks. Manufacturers must now contend with proposed laws like the EU’s Cyber Resilience Act in addition to existing regulation.
All three companies will work together to provide security assessments, design, threat monitoring, 24/7 vigilance, response and training. They also plan to integrate NTT Docomo Business’s OsecT unauthorized communication detection capabilities into Omron’s controllers. This would help manufacturers identify equipment configurations and monitor security conditions beyond what network-level monitoring can reveal.

The partnership builds on their earlier work connecting factory data securely to cloud platforms and data spaces. Both companies will also develop sales and service models for equipment vendors and factory operators.
From October 2026, they plan to expand services by combining additional NTT Group security solutions. Support for overseas customers is planned within 2026, while the application of security and trust technologies developed by NTT Group is targeted for 2027.
The initiative aims to help manufacturers protect production operations while enabling safer data use and long-term improvements in industrial productivity.
