Datatang Inc. (brand name: Nexdata) has announced a strategic business partnership in the field of physical AI with Realworld Labs, a developer and provider of five-fingered robotic hands and robotic arms boasting world-class dexterity for physical AI.
By combining the strengths of both companies—high-precision hardware and large-scale data production capabilities—we will achieve large-scale collection and organization of dextrous manipulation data, which is the most difficult and valuable aspect of VLA (Vision-Language-Action) model development.
With the advancement of large-scale language models (LLMs), the practical application of “seeing, thinking, and acting” physical AI is rapidly accelerating. While the social implementation of autonomous robots is becoming a reality in all industries, including manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, nursing care, and home support, the biggest challenge that developers commonly face is the “lack of high-quality training data for robots.”

Developing VLA models and world models requires multimodal data that faithfully reflects real-world environments—particularly rich demonstration data on dextral manipulation. However, building an end-to-end data pipeline independently still requires significant cost and expertise from developers, from procuring appropriate hardware to setting up the collection environment and ensuring data quality.
To address these common industry challenges, Nexdata has decided to enter into a strategic partnership with Realworld Labs, which possesses superior robotic hands and data acquisition hardware.
